DiscoPriest is a blog about my adventures playing World of Warcraft. My primary character, Celaeno, is a discipline priest, and the inspiration for the name. You can find Cel on the Azgalor, US server, in the guild Brotherhood of Oblivion. I’ve played on other servers in the past, including Moon Guard, Nathrezim, Ravenholdt, and Earthen Ring. I have raiding experience as a warlock, a paladin, and a priest, and the only classes that I haven’t played beyond introductory levels are warrior, shaman, and death knight.
My name is Sara, though of course everyone in game and most of the people I follow on twitter know me as Cel (unless you raided with me in BC, when I was old man warlock Al, or when Naxx was progression content, when I went by Ori). I’m 24, reside in the DC metro area, and I live with my boyfriend, who has never played WoW and vows that he never will. I have a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and I studied abroad at Oxford University one summer, endearing me to the Oxford comma. I took three semesters each of French and Russian during college, and somehow wound up with an inability to speak either. I have a side-tracked graduate degree in progress, working towards becoming a children’s librarian. It’s side-tracked because I hate being in school with a fiery passion, though I have been employed as a teacher in the past and absolutely loved it.
I didn’t start playing WoW until April of 2008, though a look through my internet history tells me that I had planned to pick it up for Christmas of 2004, only to find that it was sold out everywhere. I am clearly not persistent. However, I’m no stranger to geeky things, and have been role playing online in various fandoms since I discovered the internet at the age of 13, and love the Fantasy genre more fervently than I can express. If The Powers That Be ever rolled out a Dragonriders of Pern MMO, I’d jump ship from WoW in a heart beat. I hate most anime, despite my boyfriend’s protests that you can’t just up and hate an entire genre; the exception is Utena. I am a goon (05!).
